Hello again, gorgeous! I am up and at ’em this morning after a great weekend spent with a dear friend, ready to tackle another week! And guess what?! Today’s post is a monthly favorite of mine, wine night! If you’re new around here, my wine night posts contain two parts: a round-up of all my latest Instagram posts (check ’em out @madeinmissouri), and a little insight as to what’s going on in my neck of the woods! As always, let’s give ourselves a chance to get our glasses full, take a nice rewarding sip…
Here we go!

Now for the nitty gritty of my life. If you saw on my Instagram post, yesterday was the official start of my marathon training! So exciting! I am registered to run the California International Marathon on December 3 in Sacramento. It’s the largest marathon in California, and the course is fairly easy (compared to others, 26.2 miles is definitely not easy). Running a marathon has been on my bucket list since college, and in the back of my mind, I had wanted to cross it off by the time I turned 25. I turn 25 next January so we’re cutting it close! Anyways, I’m super excited for this challenge, and would appreciate any and all running tips you may have!
Last week, I had mentioned that a big change had happened in my life. It’s work-related, and I can’t really talk about it for a few reasons. No, I did not lose my job. But what I can say is that I’m very excited for this new change and the opportunity that it brings. I’m not a person who fears or hates change; in fact, I’m often someone who embraces it. I know that at first, you are often left with more questions than answers, and it can seem incredibly overwhelming. We’re coming up on the busy season here in wine country, so there will be a lot of quick learning, and becoming more decisive and assertive. I think one of the things I like most about change is how it allows people to show their true colors. Watching people step up and rise to the occasion is one of the greatest things about change. Adapting to adversity is something I have learned a lot through sports, and feel that it has helped me immensely in my career. So if you’re someone who struggles with change, I really invite you to try and see the opportunity in it, become more flexible, learn to go with the flow. I know it can be scary and it’s the unknown, but breathe, you can do it!
That’s about all I have for my life update at this point. Work is about to become crazy busy, so I’ll really need to stay on top of blogging, be organized and plan far ahead. If there’s anything you’d like to see on the blog, let me know!
Cheers from Napa,
